JJL Contractor & Trades Business Kit
A practical, editable set of estimating, scope-control, change-order, job-documentation and pricing tools for independent contractors and small trade businesses.
Digital product only. Sample numbers and terms are placeholders. JJL tools are educational/business-planning resources and do not replace legal, tax, accounting, engineering, code-compliance or other licensed professional advice.
Give the job a written structure before the work starts.
The templates are intentionally editable so a contractor can fit them to the type of work, customer, trade and local requirements involved.
Before the job

Price the work from your costs—not somebody else's hourly rate.
The workbook lets the owner combine labor, materials, material markup, subcontractors, equipment, travel, overhead and target margin, then review actual profit after the job.
Small pricing leaks become expensive on real jobs.
The intake and estimate templates force the job scope, assumptions and exclusions into writing before pricing gets fuzzy.
The change-order tools make it easier to stop “while you're here…” work from quietly turning into unpaid labor and materials.
The job-review sheet compares the sold price with real job costs so the next quote can be smarter.
Before you download
Is this accounting or invoicing software?
No. JJL intentionally keeps the downloadable kits out of your official accounting and payment records. These are planning, estimating and documentation tools.
Does the workbook tell me what markup or margin I should use?
No. Sample percentages are placeholders. Use your own costs, overhead assumptions and target margin, and adjust for your market, risk and business model.
Can I use the estimate and policy templates as a legal contract?
They are editable business templates, not legal advice. Contract, deposit, warranty, lien, cancellation and home-improvement rules vary by location and type of work, so review your final terms for your business.
Can I change the files for my trade?
Yes. That is the point. Change the services, rate structure, scope language, exclusions, policies, logo and contact information to match your own operation.
Build the price before the job builds surprises.
